The opt-out survey is only for families who were enrolled in virtual learning until the end of the 2021-2022 school year and would like to enroll in remote learning in September 2022. Please note that no action is required if you are choosing to return to in-person learning.

The 51黑料 is planning for a full return to in-person learning for all students, K to 12, in September 2022. We believe this is the best place for our students to learn. The Ministry of Education has announced that school boards shall provide a remote learning option for families for the 2022-2023 school year.

All elementary and secondary students have been enrolled for in-person learning for September 2022.

The is open from July 27th until August 5th. Only students who were enrolled in virtual learning until the end of the 2021-22 school year will have the opportunity to opt-out of in-person learning. If you select remote learning and change your mind prior to the survey closing on August 5th you may log in again, select 鈥渞eturn to in-person鈥 and resubmit the survey. If a student was enrolled in virtual learning at the end of the 2021-22 school year and they have a sibling registered as a new student to 51黑料 in September 2022, the new student is also eligible to participate in remote learning.

All students that opt-out of in-person learning must remain within the district boundaries and provide proof of residency to the home school to be able to access remote learning. There will be designated points during the 2022-23 school year where students will be provided with an opportunity to return to in-person learning.

The September 2022 remote learning model for elementary and secondary students will be determined based on enrolment data that is gathered from the survey results. Remote learning may include a Hybrid Model, a Virtual School, e-Learning, TVO or courses that are available at our alternative secondary school (for secondary students). Students who opt-out of in-person learning may be placed in any one of these models. The remote learning model will be communicated to families after August 22, 2022.
